Jason R. Smith, President & Managing Director of Private Equity

Jason Smith is the President of Peak Ridge Capital and has played an integral role in the launch of each of Peak Ridge’s Investment Groups. He is a member of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees and also oversees Peak Ridge’s Midwest operations.

Throughout his career, Jason has conducted hundreds of millions of dollars of private investment transactions. He is an active board member and currently a sitting director of multiple early/growth stage companies. In addition, Jason provides strategic advice to companies and investment funds ranging from deal screening and investment structuring, on through to mergers and acquisitions.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Jason served as the Capital Campaign Chairperson for the East Madison Community Center. Prior to his work with Peak Ridge, Jason spent several years as an attorney for the Stafford Rosenbaum law firm in Madison and as special counsel to a commercial real estate holding company.

Jason holds a J.D., cum laude, from the New England School of Law where he was honored by being an editor of, and published in, the school’s academic Journal, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mark R. Dawson, Chief Financial Officer

Mark Dawson is the Chief Financial Officer of Peak Ridge Capital. Since joining Peak Ridge, Mark has played a key role in the expansion of the firm to its current standing as one of the leaders in the alternative asset management arena. He is also responsible for the internal implementation of the strategic direction within Peak Ridge and oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm. Mark is also a member of Peak Ridge’s Executive and Oversight Committees.

Prior to joining Peak Ridge, Mark founded Allerton Consulting. This consulting firm specialized in financial process and system implementations. With his expertise in both financial best practices and project management, Mark assisted finance organizations of multi-billion dollar, global companies in the implementation of various solutions to maximize the profitability and efficiency of their operations. Prior to that, Mark was Chief Financial Officer and co-founder of The Vision Consulting Group.

Mark is active in several charitable organizations in the Boston area and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Boston College with a B.S. degree in Accounting.
